Guns go Bang! with Jeroen du Chatinier - Friday, 30. August - 14:00 - 17:00h

About the Workshop:

How do you shoot someone on stage? How do you get shot? Does your gun go Bang or Pew-Pew? Can you create genuine tension by putting your hand on your holstered gun, and NOT drawing it out?

Improvised firearms are tricky to get right! In this workshop, we will dive into the space-object work around using guns in improv, as well as the narrative impact of bringing a gun into your scene. The weight, scent and sound of a gun will influence how your character acts and reacts in a scene.  This is for you, if you like nerding out about the proper etiquette of improvised firearms, or if you want to learn how to play an expert who can field-strip their pistol and put it back together again in under ten seconds. Blindfolded.

About the Teacher:

Jeroen lives in Haarlem, the Netherlands and loves storytelling in all its forms. In Amsterdam he plays with Killed By Tygers. He has recently picked up woodworking as a hobby, loves a good glass of whiskey and is the human equivalent of a Golden Retriever. He loves diving deep into subjects and finding out what makes them work and why that is. Sometimes he organizes festivals.
